 About Pat
Pat is a 54 year old Australian, who has made South Africa his home. From year 1 to 5 his life was an emotional ride of hardships and abuse, including time in an orphanage.
School was a difficult time for Pat as, being dyslexic he could not form neat r’s and m’s like prissy Mary could. Consequently he failed the first year and had to try his luck again with another bunch of kids. From there things spiralled downwards with toxic self esteem adding to his dyslexic problem. By his 16th birthday, the Australian schooling system had had enough of his aggressive and disruptive behaviour and so his life as a bricklayer and occasional drunk started.
For years he floundered with a life that did not work and only after his failed marriage did he get to the point where he asked the question, “Is there something better than this?” And so his search started with living life with a positive attitude. He learned that when he was more positive than negative, his life functioned better. Having an inquiring mind, he then had to ask, ‘How does this work? What force allows a positive mindset to ensure a more functional life than a negative mind set?’ It was then that he discovered that the creator is benevolent, all things are possible.
And so from being someone who left school to lay bricks, Pat advanced to becoming an entrepreneur, where his software company creates and markets computer software to well known companies in both South Africa and other parts of the world. He has developed from an illiterate, to an author - from a dysfunctional life to one that functions successfully - from resentment and anger to fulfilment and happiness.
Pat has learnt that living a positive life, whilst trusting in God, is a winning formula.
