Aquarius Full Moon in Leo August 2011

The full moon is always my best time of month, because I’m outgoing and social, when I’m in my element. This time I didn’t research this one alot but I did manage to get these little notes together.

The full moon may outshine this year’s perseid meteor shower, which occurs when Earth passes through the debris trail of the Swift-Tuttle comet. Bits of space rock sucked in by Earth’s gravity burn up in the atmosphere, putting on a light show. Fallen Stars: A Gallery of Famous Meteorites

The Perseids hit their peak on Aug. 12 and 13 this year, just as the moon is at its brightest. That leaves little opportunity for viewing this year’s shower at its peak.

This Full Moon in Aquarius occurs  Saturday, August 13 at 2:58 pm Eastern (6:58 pm GMT) at 20 degrees. With the Aquarius Moon opposite the Leo Sun, we are called to see how the air and fire elements, respectively, work together (air fanning flames) as opposed to fighting each other (air blowing out a flame). This Full Moon is a time when hot fights cold, subconscious fights the conscious, and air will fight fire. We must determine where the balance and harmony between these opposites lies.

Full Moons represent the culmination of those things that were begun with the New Moon (in this case the July 30 New Moon in Leo).  This Full Moon represents the work we’ve done in the past weeks to pay attention to ourselves and our personal gifts/talents, and cultivating those gifts to which we’d like to give more attention.

The sun unleashed a massive X-class solar flare on August 9th, the strongest yet in Solar Cycle 24, and scientists predict a wave of solar storms that could cause disruptions in satellite, telecommunications and electrical equipment. They can also cause excitability in people’s emotional and electrical (nervous) systems which can outplay in social, political and economic disruption. It’s very important that we intentionally maintain our emotional balance and increase our heart coherence at this time. By increasing our compassion for others and for ourselves, we remain more poised and positively affect the energetic field environment around us. As we discussed in last month’s full moon Care Focus, solar influxes on our planet provide us with an opportunity to use these energy influxes to create humanitarian advances.
