Consciousness of colour – dancing with opposites.

The final week of the Consciousness of Colour ended on exploring the colour opposites which represent the seen and the unseen (even after you have read this piece, I leave it to you dear reader to choose which colour represents each of these for you).

white-photos-collageWhite usually has a positive connotation and is a combination of all colours that make up the spectrum. It balances the virtues of each colour fairly, and hence, is considered perfect.

The Power of White

White energies will help you balance your decisions, and have a neutral outlook. It will help the mind fight and come out of the dark to a pure living. This colour stands as a brilliant hue for the human eye.

Best used in safety and cleanliness, white goes well with products that define purity, order, and simplicity. Overuse of white, can however not be healthy. Strictly speaking, white is not a colour, but the manifestation of the presence of all colour – the complete energy of light.

It stands for wholeness and completion. In many cultures it represents openness and truth. White has a cold quality. It can provide clarity as its energy is complete.

White has purification vibrations and can be used to clear blocks from your path. It holds the potential to move toward every other colour and this makes it a good choice for new beginnings, and development in any direction.

Put some white in your life when you want:

  • to clear clutter and obstacles away
  • to start a fresh beginning
  • to bring about mental clarity
  • purification of thoughts or actions

Black in contrast to white is the most misunderstood colour. Dense and powerful, black is a heavy and timeless colour. It defines mystery, and is often referred to as an unknown colour.

A black tie dinner is very formal and elegant. Women can wear that “must have little black dress” to the black tie dinner. Yet it is a colour that also defines a submissive nature; hence, it is worn by priests; which represents submission to the holy and divine power.

As black defines an end, which is followed by a new beginning, this colour is often preferred by teenagers. Thus, the transcendence from childhood to teenage makes them more attracted to black.

It is well known that Black symbolizes death, grief and mourning in some cultures. Native Americans thought black was good because it was the colour of soil, which gives life.

Black Energy

Black is not a colour, strictly speaking, it is the absence of all colour. When people speak of opposites, it is usually in terms of black and white. Black, and its opposite white, represents polarities. Black absorbs all aspects of light. While white reveals, black conceals. It has come to mean hidden, fearful or bad experience and is linked to the unknown or the unseen. How often do we judge that we don’t know or haven’t experienced yet?

In times of fear and uncertainty black contains the energy of the threatening unknown. In a positive state, black is seen as a restful emptiness into which anything may emerge and disappear once again.

The Power of Black

This colour helps in self-control and independence. It also has the capacity to absorb bad energies. Since black is a heavy colour, it is often worn by people because it makes them appear slim. The sophistication of black also makes it a must-have for other luxury products and high-end markets.

Excess black can be discouraging and sweep thoughts towards negativity. Black also denotes the unseen, evil, and darkness. It defines limits, and hence, black has an unfriendly and reserved appeal.

Black is the end, but the end always implies a new beginning. When the light appears, black becomes white, the colour of new beginnings.

BW yin Yang

This led me to look up another misunderstood concept – at the heart of traditional Chinese herbal medicine is the theory of yin and yang. Yin and yang is the cycle of life- starting with the rise of the sun in the morning where the rays shine straight up.

From here, the sun goes higher into the sky creating rays of light that point downwards creating shadows. The sun creates heat, which in turn creates energy and movement. Those items that were in the dark are now in the light. Later in the day, the same things that were creating a shadow are now in a shadow. The light is heading towards darkness. That which was yang is now becoming yin.

Slowly but surely, light is replaced with darkness. The sun is replaced with the moon. And so, the cycle goes — what was yang (light) becomes yin (darkness) and vice versa. And more importantly, even when there is yin, there is yang.

As you are familiar with previous colours, each Access Body Process® works in a different area and multiple processes can contribute and expand the change that is possible. For this week’s Access Body Process® we worked with the Square Root of Minus One – strange name but a great process itself. This process assists the body with overcoming what are considered to be normal human diseases and diseases created from the things we hide from ourselves.

Like the Blue Divine Oil of transformation, this process seems to be a ‘hands-on’ rescue remedy. It can eliminate colds and flu in a few hours and change your whole immune system and the structure in which it functions. It can be used for insomnia, and is great for arthritis and animals with epilepsy. If you have been reading through the series, you will find that this one is great to run with MTVSS as well!  Using it with the Blue Oil would intensify the support and give the client something to take home to continue their healing process.  How does it get better than that?

Together with the colours white and black and this week’s Access Body Process®, it is a reminder to us to not buy into the belief that depends entirely on that which can only be seen and discard that which is not yet known. When you reflect on how much of the seen is truly known, and how much of the unseen is truly unknown the lines start to blur.

But even more important is that the challenge …………. ACTUALLY the POSSIBILITY that exists for us all to step into the potential for whatever reality WE desire to create for ourselves – every day. And, that conscious choice brings about conscious realities.

Please feel free to send any questions you may have about the series, Body process work or how to use colour to enhance your life to Penni or any of the Divine Space team who will gladly assist.

May you have a rainbow of colour to light your way.
