Everything in its right place…

I am happiest when I write music or sing. And what I love most is that element of surprise. A friend of mine gets his entire song ‚Äì melodies and everything as though it‚Äôs a download. How awesome is that not? Poor old me on the other hand has to work damn hard to find the words and hear the music‚Ķlol! This morning I got an idea for a song and yes it involved guns and violence of some sort (blame it on the horror movies I love watching…lol! So I figured it would be my starting point. However, after a half an hour something else emerged altogether. What I ended up with was a song called ‚ÄúI won‚Äôt lead you astray‚Äù and it deals drug addiction and helping someone through it. And although I have experience of it as a result of my brother and all the hell he put the family through ‚Äì this song feels more intimate… as though the person struggling is my lover. I guess you could say I am having my Jesus moment‚Ķlol!

This one guy once mentioned that I should become a part time social worker seeing that I always had something to say about human nature and all that jazz. Ask anyone who knows me…I am not cut out for that! Now I am not saying that those things are not valuable in their own right but seriously -  not everyone wants to be a social worker or psychologist. It is odd that in our society have such strict ideas about how people should be helped. “Join an organization”, “Volunteer here” or “give money to that cause”. And surely it should not matter how you go about making a difference to someone – as long as you do in some way. But hey…that’s just how I feel about it…

Here are some lyrics to the song so far

I dragged you out of hell so many times before

But you never can forget the way

You go back, you go back to stay

Never before did I have a reason to beg at Hell’s door

But Heaven aint answering me no more..
