for a friend.

i know you’re hurt. i know it wasn’t my fault. i know you’re lashing out at shit that, one day, won’t even matter.

i know, you taught me that once too.

i’ll miss you when you’re gone.

but that’s life. and life moves on.

i always said we would be friends in the end.

you said it’d end, and it woudn’t end well.

someone very wise once told me…

if it’s not okay, it’s not over. when it’s over it’ll be okay.

the middle of things are always crunchy.

they can break your teeth or they can make you smile.

but, there’s always a beginning and an end.

and your sandwich will finish.

one day.

keep chewing.

i’ll be here when the lunchbell rings and you’re ready to come back inside to learn some more.
