SA fans show spirit in Confed Cup opener

From South Africa – The Good News
Sandrick Mdaka and his friend Solly Mphahlele put their local football
rivalry aside Sunday to show support for South Africa’s national team
in the opening match of the Confederations Cup.

The two – Mdaka a supporter of South Africa’s biggest football club,
Kaizer Chiefs, and Solly Mphahlele, a fan of the country’s oldest team,
Orlando Pirates – were among the more than 50,000 fans who displayed
the colorful energy that football supporters in South Africa have
become famous for with their plastic vuvuzela trumpets and headgear
made from miners helmets called makarapas.
