Sunmoon Fire Ceremony & Sweat Lodges, 27th to 29th August, Rustlers Valley.

So many of my friends are now doing sweat lodges, and so many people ask me about them that whenever I get another email about them, I can't help but pass it on

Here's the latest email I got from Niyan:

As spring approaches, we find ourselves in the happy position of being ready to receive small groups at Sunmoon Lodge in Rustlers Valley. We have been working on the site for the last 14 months and recreated a suitable space for gatherings of up to 35 people.¬†Marimba House is now known as 'Sunmoon Lodge'. We have new toilets(good long drops), a boiler for hot showers, some nice level spots for your tent, fresh spring water, a ceremonial space, a Sweat Lodge, a nice Fire to gather around and a beautiful sacred valley surrounding us.¬†

In all the medicine works that we do, it is the singing and the songs that are most inspiring to us. Communities we have visited in Brasil all sing, and this is a key to holding the people together. In the Sweat Lodge, the Sun Dance, the Vision Quest, the Ayahuasca ceremonies, the Santo Daime, the Umbandaime, the Sangoma, the Candomble and the Kaxinawa Nixi Pae; traditional songs are sung.¬†All these traditions have their lineage of songs, songs that become familiar to the participants. Songs of celebration, honoring, gratefulness, joy and thanks. Songs of the elements, of the Earth, Stars, Sun, Moon and Sky. Songs that touch the heart and promote the opening of the heart. ¬†We would like to share our experiences with South Africans who are open to listening with their hearts, and spend this summer holding special weekend gatherings, with a difference, here at Sunmoon Lodge.

Once a month, we will hold a weekend retreat at Sunmoon Lodge(Eastern Free State) for 20-25 people. During these weekends, we will explore the songs and purification of the Sweat Lodge, you will participate in a Fire Song ceremony, spend time with nature and connect with like minded people who are on this path.¬†‚ÄòFire song‚Äô ceremonies, are a way for us to share what we have learned in our medicine walk with our South American friends. During our travels to Brasil over the last six years we have met a lot of very interesting people and we have discovered an amazing family within the ceremonies. We would like to share what we have learned and are learning, an¬†integration of songs and teachings that we have received.
