23 – 26 September 2010
Dear Dolphin Lover
Come and join me in September on a magical journey of adventure to swim with the mysterious and magnificent wild dolphins of Southern Mozambique. I’ll be guided by Courtney Ward, who has been connecting and swimming with wild dolphins in the warm Indian ocean since 2000.
The intention is always of minimal intrusion, and our dolphin swims are conducted with respect and awareness.
Looking into the crystal clear ocean depths wearing a mask and snorkel you can have phenomenal encounters with these very curious and playful beings. Watching the dolphins exquisite movements and listening to a symphony of sound you feel part of their magical world.
You will be given expert guidance to develop your intuition to communicate with these beings of delight and your competence and confidence till increase when swimming with the dolphins.
You will be with a group of between 10-20 others, with a small group of about 12-15 people on the boats. Help search for inshore dolphins, common dolphins and even the bottlenose dolphins that frequent this amazing area.
Whether it’s watching a group quietly cruising along or marveling at their high leaps, back-flips, somersaults and side-slaps during social bouts, dolphins are sure to please everyone present. During the cruise, we’re likely to see loads of other fish and coral species, a variety of seabirds and may even be fortunate enough to encounter a whale shark as they occasionally pass through the area.
Once spotted, we’ll cruise with the dolphins and get the swimmers ready if conditions allow. As a permitted operator, we abide by the rules and regulations established for dolphin swimming and viewing activities. If conditions are good, then we’ll place you in the water for the adventure of a lifetime!
Fins, masks and snorkels are available at a small extra charge, but its best to bring your own. If you’re not keen on swimming with the dolphins, then join this tour for some fantastic dolphin viewing from above.

For the past 9 years, Courtney has worked intensively with a pod of 200+ dolphins in Southern Mozambique as Halo Gaia’s leading Dolphin Swim Facilitator.

Paulus van der Merwe
Paulus was born into a musical family and showed an unusual musical talent at a very young age. The oboe took him all over the world and he plays regularly with the big European orchestras and conductors and is a sought after chamber musician.
This world of sound caused him to broaden his horizon in the search of the “inner sound”. In pre- Himalayan Sikkim and Nepal he found his karmic connection to the path of Mantra to which he has dedicated the last 20 years of study and personal practice.
Through his deep commitment to wholeness and balance, Paulus naturally progressed into a Sound Healing therapist on the Halo Gaia Dolphin Retreats and has been co-facilitating Sound Healing Dolphin retreats with Courtney Ward for the past 3 years.
The facilitation and interaction play/work of Courtney and Paulus as a team manifests in an effortless flow, bringing the energies present in a group of people into a holistic path of love, music and compassion.

I would have loved to swim with the dolphins. As it is impossible for me to go, I can experience it through you who are going. Enjoy every minute, think of us who are with you in the spirit, and come and tell us all about it.
Love,
Anette
Why is it impossible for you to swim with them Annette?
This is one of my top 10 things to do before I die…I plan on doing this next summer if no in Mozambique maybe when I visit the Philippines of Hawaii. I have been to dolphin watching trips before and it was so fun, I have always wanted to swim with them too.
Its the most specially and incredible feeling to do so
Haroun this sounds absolutely great!!! I always go to Plettenberg bay in December, and the experience just watching Dolphins is absolutely incredible! But Mozambique sounds very interesting!!! I am from Cape Town and the one thing I miss the most of not being home is the ocean and the mountain. In Kalkbay, Cape Town you can spot the dolphins as well, but it has to be early in the morning!
Have a beautifull day further and take good care!!!!
Hey Natasha. I can only just imagine how you must miss the ocean. I’m from Jozi, and even only just visiting the ocean makes me miss it when I’m back here in the big smoke.
Can you come for this trip in September?
The Dolphin Centre in Ponta D’Ouro burned down. Where are you situated?
We go to Malongane, just next door
what happened to it?Are the dolphins ok?
Dolphin Encounters, the company that run similar trips to ours, recently burnt down, http://harounkola.com/dolphin-encounters-burns-down, and they’re busy with the rebuilding process.
The dolphins, living in the ocean, are thankfully unharmed
Im glad the dolphins and the caretakers are ok. I wish them all the best in their recovery!
Dolphin Encounters will be up and running again in no time, I’m sure
I have wanted to do this for years. I really want to come some time around April next year.
Hi Sandra, please go to, http://halogaia.com and find the other dates for the trips
