The Truck Driver Strike turned violent yesterday and has started spreading to other cities in South Africa.

Please note that the following areas are no go areas at the moment. Strikers are throwing bricks and stones on the trucks:

*Alrode
*Vereeniging
*Next to all train stations
*Pretoria Road (towards Kempton Park, next to the Casino)
*Isando
*Elandsfontein
*Festival Mall (Kempton Park)
*Spartan
*N12 Jet Park pedestrian bridge

Tensions rose in Alrode as striking truck drivers resorted to violence on Tuesday, September 25.

I’ve got some friends who are here from India and they need to be at the airport at 9am and we’re wondering what tomorrow holds…
