Umphakatsi – An Eco Community in South Africa close to the borders of Swaziland

Close to the borders of Swaziland about 50km south east of Badplaas, my friend Tobhi Motha has started an eco-village called Umphakatsi (Community in Seswati) there. Everyone is welcome to visit. If you want to know exactly where it is, find Steynsdorp, the closest village on Google Earth.

It is situated next to a mountain stream with crystal clear drinking water and is surrounded by mountains except on the north which makes it nice and warm in winter. The place is as big as Blue Hippo and can be expanded as the locals are gravitating to bigger towns and the cities.

We don’t have problems of bond payment and huge investments. The land is tribal and already paid off. All your cash can go into building a dwelling and looking after yourself initially. See www.umphakatsi.org for more info.

The community we are creating will be based on Tamera, a peace village in Portugal. Google that for more info. Of course we will add the South African flavor with a strong Seswati taste.
